Neste artigo irei ensinar como rodar o Speed Test na linha de comando do CentOS, isso é muito útil para colocar em seu firewall (iptables) para você realizar teste de velocidade do seu link ou colocar no seu servidor de monitoramento para monitorar de tempos em tempos a velocidade do seu link.

Usando o speedtest-cli através da linha de comando no CentOS.

Instalando os programas necessários.

# yum install python -y

Baixe o script do Speed Test

# wget -O speedtest-cli https://raw.githubusercontent.com/sivel/speedtest-cli/master/speedtest.py

Dê permissão de execução:

# chmod +x speedtest-cli

Renomeie o arquivo baixado

# mv speedtest-cli speedtest

Mova o speedtest para o diretório /usr/local/bin, para executar ele como comando.

# mv speedtest /usr/local/bin/

Após mover basta digitar speedtest que irá executar como um comando, pode executar como usuário comum e superusuário (root).

# speedtest

Para exibir menos informações, como: ping, download e upload, digite o parâmetro: –simple.

# speedtest --simple
Ping: 31.39 ms
Download: 46.80 Mbit/s
Upload: 10.34 Mbit/s

  --no-pre-allocate     Do not pre allocate upload data. Pre allocation is
                        enabled by default to improve upload performance. To
                        support systems with insufficient memory, use this
                        option to avoid a MemoryError
  --version             Show the version number and exit
